Friendly and efficient service
Maleny Credit Union is renowned for the personal service members receive. As a community-based financial institution, service to members is our highest priority. Unlike banks, which exist to maximise profit for shareholders, our purpose is to provide ethical and appropriate financial services for members. In a recent social and environmental audit of our operations, members surveyed said MCU's most important feature for them was friendly service. 92% of members surveyed in 2005 rated MCU's overall service as "Excellent" or "Very Good".

Loans
MCU believes shelter and a living income are fundamental human rights. That's why we do everything we can to help members fulfil their dreams through home loans, business loans and personal loans. Unlike the big banks, which apply rigid criteria to their loans and exclude many people who don't fit the mould, our credit decisions look at each member's individual circumstances when it assesses loan applications. We try to help people on low incomes, people who want to start innovative businesses and people living alternative lifestyles. MCU believes it is important to keep money circulating within our bio-region. By investing locally, we build wealth in the local community. That's why MCU only offers loans to members or for projects within the Maleny district.

Term deposits
MCU offers competitive interest rates on term deposits and pensioner deeming accounts. MCU does not discriminate among investors. With MCU term investments you receive the same high interest rate regardless of the amount invested.

Savings and access products
MCU offers a range of savings accounts to suit your needs, including savings, VISA debit card, cheque and Serious Saver and E Saver accounts. You can have your pay deposited into your MCU account or transfer funds between your MCU account and other financial institutions through electronic direct debits and credits. Insurance
MCU can arrange household, car, sickness, accident and other insurance for members.

Maleny Credit Union has many members living outside the local area who support our ethics. Members can access their savings at a distance through the VISA debit card, cheque or by transfering funds to and from other financial institutions electronically (the direct credit and debit system).
