The new banking system has been installed, and with a new system will come new membership numbers which will be a six digit number starting from 100000 onwards.
Account numbers will also change and will be a new 9 digit number. The good news is that your current XRef numbers will still work for inter-bank transfers for a while. But your new account numbers MUST be used for all new transfers, direct debits and Internet Banking transfers within and between the MCU and other Credit Unions or Banks. Please use your 9 digit account numbers starting with 20 for all transfers. The new membership number is only for Internet Banking.
We have a new Internet Banking system but you will be able to do a first time login using your old member number and password, but remember to record your new member number and reset your password. Unfortunately the J numbers for joint & groups is not supported going forward so all members with a J number ONLY login will have to contact the MCU for a new registration & login. With the new system all your accounts including any joints will display under your membership so you only require one IB login. Therefore if you had a single membership login (i.e. a non J member login) you will not need to re-register.
The second factor IB security of the PIN pad at transfer is replaced with a new factor 2 icon selection at each login. This is a 3 ordered icon selection and you will be prompted to set this up on your first login. Please select the 3 icons to make a story that you will remember.
As before the ESaver transfer out is only to your nominated account and there is a separate button for doing this transfer. Please have a look around and check out the changed functionality. The IB has a classic or gadget mode where you can drag menu items onto the page to get multiviews of your accounts and transactions.
The IB has a statement button to access past transactions from the old system since 1/7/09, as the IB transaction history will start as from 1/2/10.
All your cards and cheque books will not change and will work as they do now. This computer system will enhance your access to MCU and add numerous new operating features, so we appreciate your patience and understanding of any short term disruptions to our business as we go through our computer conversion.
Should members need any assistance and/or are unsure of any of the new banking system requirements, please telephone the MCU Call Centre on 5499 8988 for assistance.
